Acute aorto-pulmonary fistula following balloon pulmonary angioplasty after arterial switch operation.

چکیده
A 13-year old girl, who had undergone arterial switch operation using the Lecompte manoeuvre for TGA, developed aortopulmonary fistula derived from the balloon angioplasty for pulmonary artery (PA) stenosis (Fig. 1A–C). Because the adhesive tissue prevented cardiac tamponade, elective surgical repair including PA reconstruction using a composite graft was successfully done several days after recovering from acute heart failure (Fig. 2A–C).

Aortopulmonary Fistula after Multiple Pulmonary Artery Stenting and Dilatation for Postarterial Switch Supravalvular Stenosis
We present a case of iatrogenic aortopulmonary fistula following pulmonary artery (PA) stenting late after arterial switch operation (ASO) for D-transposition of the great arteries (D-TGA), an unusual complication that may be encountered more frequently in contemporary adult cardiology clinics. The diagnosis should be sought in the face of unexplained heart failure in patients who underwent ASO...
متن کاملOnset of pulmonary stenosis after arterial switch operation for transposition of great arteries with intact ventricular septum
INTRODUCTION Pulmonary stenosis remains the most frequent complication and cause of reintervention after the arterial switch operation for transposition of the great arteries We investigated the onset, incidence, and outcome of pulmonary stenosis after arterial switch operation in neonates with transposition of the great arteries and intact ventricular septum. METHODS Arterial switch operatio...
متن کاملAorto-Pulmonary Artery Fistula Following Aortic Valve Replacement: A Diagnostic Dilemma
Aorto-pulmonary artery fistula is a rare and lethal occurrence after thoracic surgery and aortic aneurysms. Here we present a rare occurrence of acute aorto-pulmonary artery fistula in outpatient department in a follow up patient of aortic valve replacement and discuss challenges faced in diagnosis, etiopathogenesis and management.
متن کاملRecanalisation of an occluded modified Blalock-Taussig shunt by balloon dilatation.
A four year old boy with pulmonary atresia and ventricular septal defect had an acute cyanotic episode three years after undergoing a right-sided, 6 mm diameter, modified Blalock-Taussig shunt. On admission no continuous murmur could be heard from the shunt and the typical high velocity, continuous flow profile of the shunt could not be identified by Doppler echocardiography. At catheterisation...
متن کاملSuccessful stenting of a life threatening pulmonary arterial stenosis.
A 35 year old woman with multiple pulmonary arterial stenoses and occlusions was admitted with increasingly severe breathlessness. Balloon angioplasty of a life threatening stenosis in a remaining pulmonary artery branch was attempted on two occasions but without success. When a self-expanding stainless steel stent was inserted at the site of stenosis after a further angioplasty acute localised...
